Back Body Power with the Bowspring!
Many of us are blind to what we cannot see. This is true for our bodies! Most modern exercise focuses on the “glamour” muscles in the front of the body. The Bowspring alignment brings balance to movement by finding strength in the back of the body. In addition to this back body power, by opening up and lengthening the front body, patterns of stress that are held in the nervous system begin to release. This opening brings calmness to the physiology. All techniques learned in this workshop can be applied to everyday movements such as sitting, standing and walking. Do not miss the opportunity to begin to reshape your backside in this fun, educational and interactive workshop where you will sweat, move and grow!!! Saturday, April 23 2:00-4:00 Costs $30

    Inversion Transitions Workshop
Sometimes life has a way of turning our plans upside down. Rather than getting bent out of shape, we bend into the Bow!!! Let's celebrate this ease in transitioning through life with a workshop on inversions!! Join Emily for a two-hour workshop on transitioning in inversions!!! Inversions are great for building whole body strength and confidence, plus are mood enhancers! Desi and John will not be here the last weekend in April, however our community can still gather!!! Let’s put the skills they have taught us to the test as we go upside down. The workshop will include hitch kicks, cartwheels, jumping, and more! Saturday, April 30th from 2:00-4:00 Cost is $30 and $25 for auto-pay members

Full Weekend- The Power of Bowspring with Desi Springer & John Friend with Desi Springer & John Friend
This is a 10-hour introductory course for the Bowspring – a new approach for functional postural alignment for all ages. The Bowspring is a curvy posture of readiness, which brings lightness and openness to any functional position. In this weekend workshop, students will learn how to make any movement or common posture like standing, sitting, or walking, fluid and dynamically powerful for optimal functionality and radiant health. Additionally, a wide variety of dynamic postures—backbends, side spirals, arm-balancings, and inversions—will be presented with Bowspring alignment. All levels of students – beginners to yoga teachers and fitness instructors – are welcomed to experience the transformative and therapeutic power of the Bowspring. Students will learn about the 10 universal postural tendencies which unconsciously draw us toward a closed posture throughout our normal day. The basic elemental forms of the Bowspring system are presented in this introductory course so that any student can begin a Bowspring practice at home after this weekend for ever-expanding mind-body health. Desi and John will help each student learn the Bowspring considering everyone’s unique alignment and particular limitations. The most basic elemental forms of the Bowspring system will be presented along with dynamic postures within the Level 1 Syllabus. What is the Bowspring? The Bowspring alignment is a revolutionary postural practice for optimal health. The Bowspring is a curvy, dynamic, and open posture. The Bowspring aligns the body in a position of readiness. It is an alignment for us to move with lightness and fluid power like a graceful animal. It is a natural curvy shape of the body that puts a spring in your step, and uplifts your mood. With this dynamically balanced posture, the breath can move freely without inhibition bringing a new level of vitality and energetic freedom. Bowspring practice provides tremendous health benefits for body, mind, and heart. It is a postural template that can be applied universally to any yoga pose, athletic movement or any functional posture for optimal performance. The Bowspring alignment is accessible for people of all ages worldwide. This powerful postural template converts the most common daily positions of sitting and standing from heavy, static poses into light, dynamic positions full of the spring and fluidity of life. The Bowspring is a simple and natural shape, but is not so easy to practice in the beginning. It is challenging to learn at first, but the healing benefits make its regular practice worthwhile. The Bowspring system is revolutionary to the standard model of static postural alignment. Instead of an upright, stacked posture, the Bowspring promotes a dynamic neutral position of the pelvis that is anteriorally tipped forward so that the pelvic floor is level, and the hips are behind the vertically of the ribcage and the head. It offers a new view on body alignment that keeps you living healthy at any age; cultivating graceful lightness and whole body strength.
Be the first to bring Bowspring to your area! Host The Spiritual Misfit at your local studio or fitness facility.
There may be a limited number of Bowspring teachers across the world, but there are still plenty of opportunities to learn the Bow!!
